I'm Outta Here!

Heading South of the border (and no, not that border) to surround myself with the women in my life who "get" me, support me, and share a common bond. A little shopping, gabbing in the car - coffees in hand - lots of laughing, and a healthy dose of buoying spirits through the companionship of those I can count on, no matter what. My handyman will keep the home fires burning, with a little help from his mum. So, although I will miss them all, I won't have to worry about my brood.

It may not be an exotic vacation, but our annual Mother's Day shopping trip to Maine is all I need to celebrate Mother's Day. There is nothing like hanging out with the women in my family to put all things into perspective. Nothing...

Flippin' Out, continued...

Heading up the stairs, it was more about lipstick and elbow grease than actual renovation. Painting of every surface, new bathroom toilet, sink faucet, lighting and accessorizing freshened up the second floor.

Next, we will move outdoors and address the curb appeal of the home. As soon as we are finished, I'll share that, too!

Flippin' Out!

Well, you may or may not be wondering where I've been and what I've been up to. This poor, little blog has been a tad neglected lately, as other things in my life have required more of my attention and concentration. A while ago, I alluded to you that I was working on a special project involving a client of a very personal nature: me. Well, after spending a hectic weekend finishing up the project, I will share a few photos. This project involved renovating and refreshing a little, humble house that had been long neglected and violated by some very unworthy owners. Our hope is that new, caring owners will come along and settle in and respect it, as every older house deserves. Each and every corner was scrubbed of its filth, repaired, painted, refinished and restyled (of course!) by the splintered, weathered hands of my hard-working handyman and his loyal wife...me!!
Here are some before and afters of the downstairs living area:

My hard-working husband built an entirely new kitchen himself which included new custom cabinets, countertop, flooring, lighting, and backsplash, and more.
